Sorell SV-10 or SupportPlus Evolve
Notes and information on getting the most of out this portable media player.Preparing for use:
1. Download the latest firmware: 2.262. Make sure you have charged the battery. You will have to unplug the device in order to do the upgrade!
3. Unzip it and copy it to the DATA or SYSTEM folder on the pmp.
4. Restart the unit and the firmware will install.
5. Go to the system settings in the menu and select system default settings.
Types of files the unit will play:
1. Video: divx or xvid video with mp3 audio stream.2. Audio: mp3 or wma
The device requires the avi format with an avi extension on the video file.
Fixing the audio/video sync on media files:
1. You only need to re-encode audio to fix the files. On the mac you can use a program called ffmpegx that provides a front end to mencoder. On other platforms you will have to find out how to run this program. It is part of mplayer and the mplayer site has documentation on its use and this particular issue. Apparently only mencoder and nandub produce properly formatted files when using variable bit rate audio, so make sure you alwasy use constant bit rate audio.2. Re-encode the audio portion of the file (as constant bit rate or cbr mp3 audio) but do not re-encode the video. The final file will have audio in sync. It will also have proper video if artifacts were shown during the playback of some xvid files. It will also have the ability to fast forward in some files where this was also missing.
Replacing the ugly wallpaper:
1. Create a jpg image at resolution 640x480 (other sizes are ok too but this will be optimal for the screen).2. Save the image as background.jpg in the SYSTEM folder on the device.
